How it all began
It started in a garage
Two friends, Theo and Nina, started Ember & Oak in 2014 with a small roaster and a big idea. From a garage in Fairfield County, they began chasing the best and freshest Arabica beans they could find, roasting batch by batch and sharing cup after cup with anyone who would listen. Quality, freshness, and a little creativity were the plan from day one.

Our drum roaster
With a cast-iron drum and precise heat control, we dial in the variables that let us properly develop and bring out the unique characteristics of each origin we source.
We opened a small shop
A few years and many, many batches later, Theo and Nina outgrew the garage and opened the doors of their first retail shop. The roaster moved out of the driveway, and a small community of coffee lovers grew up around it.
Roasting almost every day, we partner with long-time coffee traders who connect us to the source. Concentrating on transparency, traceability, and quality, we purchase and roast fresh crop coffees year round.
